As part of being a Balkan-based travel writer, journalist, consultant and author, I belong to a unique selection of societies, organizations, professional associations and networks. A selection of these are listed below.

I belong to writing and journalism organizations such as the National Press Club, the American Society of Journalists and Author, and TravelWriters UK.

Some of my other affiliations include the Society for the Promotion of Byzantine Studies, the Friends of Mt Athos, the International Studies Association, the North American Society for Serbian Studies, and the Bulgarian Studies Association. I belong to the NMIA and AFIO as a media member.
