As part of being a Balkan-based travel writer, journalist, consultant and author, I belong to a unique selection of societies, organizations, professional associations and networks. A selection of these are listed below.

I belong to writing organizations such as the American Society of Journalists and Authors, Travelwriters.com, TravelWriters UK and the Press4travel.com network. I am an occasional correspondent for Global Radio News as well.

Some of my other affiliations include the Society for the Promotion of Byzantine Studies, the Friends of Mt Athos, the International Studies Association, the North American Society for Serbian Studies, and the Bulgarian Studies Association. I belong to the NMIA and AFIO as a media member. I also act as an advisory editor for the South Balkans for the World Security Network. I am a glass-carrying member of the Macedonian Wine Club.
